Bookings

How do I book a tyre fitting?

Appointments are booked through the tyre pages using our online booking system. Use the FP Fitment Finder™ to select your vehicle details, choose your tyres, and select a convenient appointment time and location.

Where do you carry out tyre fittings?

We provide mobile tyre fitting across CM, SS and CO postcode areas in Essex. During booking you can select the location where the fitting will take place, such as your home or workplace.

Do I need to be present during the fitting?

Ideally yes, but as long as we have safe access to the vehicle and the wheel locking key if required, we can often complete the fitting while you’re at home or work.

How long does a tyre fitting appointment take?

Most tyre fittings take 30–60 minutes, depending on the number of tyres being replaced and the vehicle.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

If you need to adjust your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to reschedule your fitting for a more suitable time.

When will my wheel fitting be arranged?

Once your wheels have been delivered to us, we will contact you directly to arrange a suitable fitting appointment.

Tyres

How do I find the correct tyre size for my vehicle?

You can use the FP Fitment Finder™ on our tyre and wheel pages by selecting your vehicle make, model, and variant. The tool will then display the tyre sizes and compatible wheel specifications recommended for your vehicle.

If you prefer to check manually, you can also find this information in a few other places:

  • On your tyre sidewall – tyre sizes are printed in a format such as 225/40 R18.
  • Inside the driver’s door frame or fuel flap – many vehicles display a sticker with recommended tyre sizes and pressures.
  • In your vehicle handbook – this will list the approved tyre and wheel specifications.

Wheel sizes are typically listed as something like 18x8J ET35 5x112, which refers to the wheel diameter, width, offset, and bolt pattern.

If you’re unsure about sizing or compatibility, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to help confirm the correct fitment for your vehicle.

What do the numbers on a tyre mean?

Tyre sizes follow a format such as 225/40 R18.

  • 225 = tyre width (mm)
  • 40 = sidewall profile (%)
  • 18 = wheel diameter (inches)

When should tyres be replaced?

Tyres must be replaced once the tread reaches the legal limit of 1.6mm, but many drivers change them earlier for improved safety and performance.

You should also replace tyres if they show:

  • uneven wear
  • cracking
  • bulges or damage

Should tyres be replaced in pairs?

In many cases tyres are best replaced in pairs on the same axle to maintain balanced handling and grip.

What type of tyre should I choose?

Different tyres are designed for different driving needs. Options may include summer tyres, all-season tyres, and performance tyres. If you’re unsure which option suits your vehicle, we’re happy to advise before booking.

Wheels

How do I know which wheels will fit my car?

Use the FP Fitment Finder™ on our wheel pages to select your vehicle details. This will show compatible wheel sizes based on your car’s specifications.

What measurements determine wheel fitment?

Correct wheel fitment depends on several specifications including:

  • Diameter
  • Width
  • PCD (bolt pattern)
  • Offset (ET)
  • Centre bore

These measurements ensure the wheel fits safely on your vehicle.

Can I change the size of my wheels?

In many cases vehicles can accommodate different wheel sizes, but the tyre size must also be adjusted to maintain the correct overall rolling diameter. You can use the Wheel Size Calculator on this page to compare possible size changes.

How long do alloy wheels take to arrive?

Most wheels are supplied to order, so delivery times vary depending on the manufacturer. Estimated delivery times are listed on the product page.

When will my wheels be fitted?

Once your wheels have been delivered to us, we will contact you directly to arrange a fitting appointment at a convenient time.
